  • make sure to wash your hands anytime you are caring for your tattoo

  • make sure to keep the tattoo clean with mild, anti-bacterial liquid soap. never use bar soap.

things to avoid

  • try not to pick at your tattoo. scratching or picking will cause uneven healing, pigment-loss, and possibly an infection.

  • if you have pets, try and keep them away from your tattoo for the first two weeks while it is healing.

  • avoid direct sunlight. if you must go in the sun, use high SPF sunscreen on your tattoo. to prevent fading, always use sunscreen on your tattoos even after the healing process.

  • during the first two to three weeks of healing, do not submerge in water for prolonged periods of time - this includes bathtubs, swimming pools, oceans, rivers, hot springs and saunas.

  • try to avoid exercising or high-sweat activities for the first few days after your appointment.
